Three phase separator is a kind of device who can separate oil, gas and water by their own specific gravity and measure volume from well for each phase during whole well testing job that can be operated onshore or offshore. So gas outlet is normally set on top three phase separator. And oil & water outlet is set on bottom. Measuring equipment like fluid meters and gas meters is installed on oil, water and gas outlet.

As Three phase separator vessel is pressure vessel, there is safety valve and rupture disck on top of vessel to protect equipment. Two safety valves setting is another option. Three phase separator vessel is made according to ASME VIII and U mark is stamped on nameplate.

Oil and water interface level should be controlled, so control valve is also used on Three phase separator.
